Polk County – WI is home to over 31 miles of maintained ATV/UTV trails. To ride on the county trails your ATV/UTV/Off-Road Motorcycle must be registered and licensed. Please educate yourself on trail regulations.
All County roads are open all year-round to ATV/UTV’s unless otherwise posted

Amery to Almena
CATTAIL STATE TRAIL
oPEN YEAR ROUND TO ATV’S AND MOTORCYCLES.
18 miles of trail. 12 in Polk Count) Trailhead at Amery. Rest rooms, picnic areas available at the trailhead. This trail has lots of wildlife along the trail. It is an old railroad bed with 6 bridges. This is also a multi-use trail. PLEASE USE PROPER TRAIL ETIQUETTE.

STERLING TRAIL
OPEN JUNE 1 – NOVEMBER 15 TO ATV’S. OFF ROAD MOTORCYCLES NOT ALLOWED
7 miles of closed loop wooded trail. No dirt bikes or horses allowed. Trailhead includes parking, picnic tables, and restrooms.

CLEAR LAKE TO CLAYTON
SAWMILLL COUNTY TRAIL
oPEN YEAR ROUND TO ATV’S. OFF ROAD MOTORCYCLES ALLOWED SPRING/SUMMER/FALL.
11 miles of railroad trail. There is an ATV route on streets through the Village of Clear Lake. Motorcycles not licensed for highway use cannot get through town. This is also a multi-use trail. PLEASE USE PROPER TRAIL ETIQUETTE.

ST. CROIX FALLS TO DANBURY
GANDY DANCER STATE TRAIL
OPEN TO FROZEN GROUND ATV/UTV USE (POLK COUNTY SEGMENT)
47 miles of railroad trail. Side trails not open to ATV/UTV use. This is also a multi-use trail. PLEASE USE PROPER TRAIL ETIQUETTE.

Snowmobile in the st. croix valley
Rev up for some fuel-injected fun in the St. Croix River Valley. The natural terrain provides some of the most diverse scenery in the Upper Midwest. The landscape, shaped primarily by glaciers, offers glimpses of eskers, potholes (kettles), forests, bluffs, ancient rock formations, and stunning river vistas. And through it all twists over 550 miles of world-class snowmobile trails.
