Don't let a little road construction "detour" you from finding your adventure here in #thestcroixvalley.
You just have to take a different way into town is all. Yes, it looks like the erosion on Hwy 8 will continue to keep the road closed coming in to Taylors Falls. In fact, it will now become part of an already planned road construction project that will make the roads coming into Taylors Falls on Hwy 8 even better for our future. But just because that section of HWY 8 is closed until October, doesn't mean our wonderful towns and amenities are closed! Just follow the detour routes!

Motorists in both directions of Highway 8 will continue to encounter a road closure west of Taylors Falls.
Additional rainfall caused further deterioration. Maintenance crews have stabilized the area and a permanent repair will occur during the Highway 8 construction project currently underway.Motorists are advised to follow the detours through Osceola using Highway 95, Highway 243 and Wisconsin Highway 35.
For Local/car traffic, Tern Avenue has now been re-opened and paved.
Eastbound Traffic:
Toward North Branch, Taylors Falls, and WI
From eastbound Hwy 8, you may take Tern Avenue, then take a right onto Hwy 37 and proceed into downtown Taylors Falls, resuming either eastbound into  WI, or take a left at the stoplight and proceed north on Hwy 95 toward North Branch.
Westbound Traffic:
Toward Stillwater:
From WI on Hwy 8, as you come into downtown Taylors Falls, drive straight up the hill on 1st street as it will turn into Hwy 37. Take a left at Tern Avenue. Take a right onto Hwy 8, then an immediate left onto Hwy 95 south near Franconia Sculpture Park.
Toward Forest Lake:
From WI on Hwy 8, as you come into downtown Taylors Falls, drive straight up the hill on 1st street as it will turn into Hwy 37. Take a left at Tern Avenue. Take a right onto Hwy 8, near Franconia Sculpture Park.
 
ACCESS TO WILDWOOD CAMPGROUND AND INTERSTATE PARK MN
Local residents and Wildwood Campground visitors can continue to access the area from the west end of the Highway 8 closure. Access to Interstate Park is provided from the east end of the Highway 8 closure.
